Is there any way to put a stop to these pop ups(without paying Fortinet more money). The weirdest thing about the issue, is that we also have non Windows based file shares(directly on the SAN) and when we load test connections to that, it works flawlessly(the reason why we didn't put the Windows based file share on the SAN was size issues, the SAN limits how many GB on a share you can have, and the Windows based one is HUGE).Īnyone happen to have any thoughts on why this is happening?Īlso on another secondary note, these "Registering to Fortigate" messages keep appearing while using the Forticlient(I know there is some 10 license limit to this, but I don't fully understand this). The file server is Windows Server 2012, and it's running on VMware and off our local SAN drive. If 1 user connects to the Windows based share, they are able to access and download off the share no problem(with great speeds), but as soon as a second user connects to the file share, user 1 gets disconnected from the share and their downloading of a file is interrupted/stopped. The problem is, whether we use SSL or IPsec connections, the connection to our Windows file shares will not stay stable with multiple users. Everything seemed to go smoothly until we decided to load test the new VPN through Fortigate. The Forefront is what has ran our VPN previously, now that we have the Fortigate we have setup Forticlient access and are trying to deploy this. We also got a Fortigate 100D device to use as our firewall, instead of our old 2003 Microsoft Forefront server. We are slowly transitioning everything over to the fiber. We have just upgraded the broadband in our company from a couple T1's to a 100mb fiber circuit.
